Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Saint Thomas

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Saint Thomas or better known as SMK St Thomas is one of the oldest secondary schools in Kuantan, the state capital of Pahang. Reverend Anthony Duvelle had in 1910 bought the land her for $100 where he would then build the St Thomas church here. However, the St Thomas School (primary)would only start operating in 1950 by Rev Father Guittat with the assistance of Rev Father Reutens and later by Rev Father Yap. The history of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Mahkota, Kuantan was previously began when it was first known as Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Gambang because it used to be located in the Gambang district. Today it is one of the prominent schools in Kuantan, the state capital of Pahang among many others. Around the mid 1970s, a 13 hectare land was allocated the Pahang Department of Education and the Ministry of Education of Malaysia for the setting up of a new government secondary school around the piece of land which was located around Batu 10 Camp. Muslims will be barred from working in entertainment outlets in Kuantan

Starting next year, Muslim women are no longer allowed to work in entertainment outlets as GROs (Guest Relations Officers) or waitresses in Kuantan, the state capital of Pahang. The decision was made through unanimous approval by the Kuantan Municipal Council or MPK, according to Datuk Zulkifli Yaacob, the president.
