Pahang Art Gallery/ Balai Seni Lukis Pahang

The Pahang Art Gallery or known locally as Balai Seni Lukis Pahang is located in Kuantan, the state capital of Pahang as the main center to promote and develop the arts and crafts industries of the state. The building was launched in 2006 and opened to the public in 2007, an initiative between the Pahang state government and the National Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur. The first curator of the gallery was Mohamad Ismadi Sallehuddin, a graduate from University Technology Mara. Throughout the years, it has firmly established itself as one of the major places to showcase the works of artists mainly from Pahang as well as from the surrounding states. Shopping at the Pasar Malam

One of the major shopping pastimes here in Kuantan are its Pasar Malams or Night Markets. This is one of the more common markets which can be found not only in Kuantan but also around Malaysia but here is where you can find most of the local produce here that include food, clothing as well as the cultural arts and crafts of Pahang. Basically, it is like a flea market where the local business owners set up stall and yell away what they are offering, creating a row of very active and busy marketplace. Batu Hitam Beach

Located just about 10 minutes drive from Kuantan city center, Batu Hitam beach is one of the major beach attractions here apart from the usual Teluk Chempedak. Taman Gelora

The Taman Gelora in Kuantan or Gelora Garden is one of the best recreational locations in the state capital, Kuantan. It is situated in the heart of the city and is around 1km from Teluk Chempedak, a popular beach front of the state. Heroes Museum – Muzium Tokoh

In Kuantan, one of the major museums here is the Muzium Tokoh or Heroes Museum. The structure was built to commemorate the heroes of the state who have contributed directly and indirectly to the development of Pahang. It was originally known as Muzium Pahlawan. The building was enacted in 1910 by the then British colonies and was originally the Kuantan Distric Office. It was then converted into the Pejabat Kerajaan Daerah Kuantan in 1948 and housed the Pejabat Perairan dan Saliran, Pejabat Perhilitan, Pejabat Pesaka and Pejabat Penghulu Mukim Kuantan up until 1993. Gua Charas

One of the major attractions in Kuantan is Gua Charas or Charas cave. It is located in Panching on the Sungai Lembing road about 25km towards the northwest of Kuantan town. The cave is reported to have been formed several million years ago and this is where you will get the limestone walls that oversee the lowlands here where it also has a 20 foot metal stairs climb as well.  Inside the cave, you will be able to visit a small Buddha statue as well as the living quarters of the monks here.
