The Taman Gelora in Kuantan or Gelora Garden is one of the best recreational locations in the state capital, Kuantan. In Kuantan, one of the major museums here is the Muzium Tokoh or Heroes Museum. The structure was built to commemorate the heroes of the state who have contributed directly and indirectly to the development of Pahang. It was originally known as Muzium Pahlawan. The building was enacted in 1910 by the then British colonies and was originally the Kuantan Distric Office. It was then converted into the Pejabat Kerajaan Daerah Kuantan in 1948 and housed the Pejabat Perairan dan Saliran, Pejabat Perhilitan, Pejabat Pesaka and Pejabat Penghulu Mukim Kuantan up until 1993. One of the major attractions in Kuantan is Gua Charas or Charas cave. It is located in Panching on the Sungai Lembing road about 25km towards the northwest of Kuantan town. The cave is reported to have been formed several million years ago and this is where you will get the limestone walls that oversee the lowlands here where it also has a 20 foot metal stairs climb as well.  Inside the cave, you will be able to visit a small Buddha statue as well as the living quarters of the monks here.
